Pocket/stuffable nappies These nappies are fantastically convenient to use and come in a great range of colours, patterns and styles. Once the nappies are stuffed it’s as convenient as using an eco disposable. Pocket nappies have a waterproof outer and a soft (usually fleece) inner. Between the inner and the outer a pocket is formed with an opening at the back of the nappy, into which absorbent inserts are placed. Birth-to-potty versions have lots of room to enable them to fit your baby right up to potty training, so once you've bought them, that's it, you won't have to spend another penny on nappies! All-in-one/ All-in-two nappies A "one piece" nappy combines an integral waterproof wrap and a soft inner lining to go next to babies skin. Inserts/soakers are permanently sown in at the back of the nappy and can be partially pulled out for washing. Yes, thats right, you just bung the whole thing in the washing machine! Great huh? If your after an easy nappying experience then these are the nappies for you! The outer wrap is usually made of PUL and the inner often being fleece. A soaker pad is sewn in centrally under the fleece inner and extra inserts are attatched at the back. These nappies are great as far as convenience is concerned, as easy as an eco disposable to use. No seperating or poppering back together for use.

Shaped/fitted nappies These nappies areshapedto fit your baby and may have elastic at the waist and legs. They are often made from natural materials such as cotton, bamboo, hemp etc, so if you want a natural fabric next to your babies bum, this may be the nappy for you!They come in range of fastenings: poppers, hook and loop or a nappy nippa (modern day safety-pin replacement). Absorbent inserts can be added to boost “soakability”, some examples have a pocket at the back for boosters. A waterproof wrap is required to go over the top. The nappies below have been hand-picked from many that we have tested for there reliability and ease of use and of course cuteness!

Flat nappies (Terries, pre-folds & muslins) These nappies are probably the most economic and flexible of all the nappy types! You can kit yourself out for around £50.00 with enough terries and wraps to see your little one through to potty training. Who said real nappies had to be expensive? That’s a possible saving of between £600-1000 when compared to normal disposable nappies! Terries and pre-folds are simply called flat as they are flat when opened up.
